Why Lowe's Is Awesome

Well this is really random, I know. But if any of you have been watching tv lately, Lowe's has had some pretty sweet commercials. Not only have they been cute, but they've also had really awesome songs.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure there have been a ton of companies that have had commercials with good songs, but for some reason, Lowe's has really been quite constant with the good quality.

Here's one for instance:
The artist is Gin Wigmore

She sounds just like a scratchier Amy Winehouse. Her song is called, "Don't Stop"
What an adorable song. Good call Lowe's

Another example is the band, "Girls Love Shoes"...and the song is called, "Home". First, here's the Lowe's commercial.
I think this commercial is my absolute favorite. It's just so happy and peppy. For a thirty second clip, it really can put a smile on your face. Here's the song:
I hope you all enjoy these songs. Don't forget to give Lowe's a giant high five for these great songs!

Aeroplanes

I kind of like how that is spelled...don't you? Unless you live in England...then that's normal. Every once in a while, it's kind of fun to switch it up. Therefore, for this post, aeroplane will be used in lieu of airplane.

I hate flying. I always have. In high school, I took trips to England, Russia, and Italy in three years. Those rides were awful because you were STUCK on the plane for a good 8+ hours. Do they provide a newish movie for you to watch? Yes. Is it possible to sleep? No. Sleep overrides cool movies. That's just a fact.

Anyways so there is this new band that I really like. They've actually been touring since 2005...I've just found them. Their name is "Angus and Julia Stone"--a brother-sister duo from Australia. There are alot of really cool things that originate in Australia.

Steve Irwin. Rest in peace--you were awesome and so was your sweet accent.

Sam Stosur: My favorite favorite FAVORITE tennis player. She is phenom. Plus her arm muscles are HUGE.

Okay so finally, yes, Angus and Julia Stone.
Aren't they precious? I thought so too. Well my two favorite songs both are fixated on aeroplanes. They're a fantastic duo and these songs are just two of many many great songs. If you're in the mood for a really chill mellow boy/girl harmony, check these guys out. The two songs below are "Big Jet Plane" and "Paper Aeroplane" Enjoy!

Weddings

So it's wedding season.
                            Precious.
                            Adorable

Because it's wedding season, I'm in an extremely sappy mood.
Wedding's make everyone happy, if you think about it. I mean they're a joyous occasion, (obviously) and EVERYONE there is happy. You have the gorgeous bride, the handsome groom....it's time to celebrate!

If you couldn't guess already, I went to a wedding today. The setting was PERFECT. I have a dear dear dear friend that I have known for the past few years who met her now husband, on eharmony. How about THAT?! I love them both oh so much and really couldn't be any happier. The ceremony was simple yet elegant. The reception had dancing and an awesome meal. The weather was absolutely gorgeous as well.

Because my Grandmother and Mother came to this as well, we got on the topic of what MY wedding would be like. Yikes. At first I laughed it off, said some wise comments about how I'm never getting married...and after my mothers persistency, I really started to think about it. Therefore, here are a few things that would happen at my wedding:

1.) The dress
Jcrew. After watching way too many episodes of "Say Yes To the Dress", I'm remaining simple. I can get a gorgeous, simple dress for much less money.

2.) A keg?

Of coffee. You can thank me later, folks

3.) First dance song.

Everyone thinks of what their first dance song will be too. It could be Taylor Swift, it could be Frank Sinatra, whatever you so choose ladies. Guys--you have NO say in this...sorry.

My song is simple. It is my absolute FAVORITE song of all time. There is no other song that could fully sum up my happiness and completeness in life, other than this song. Is that a bit overdramatic? Yes. Mind you--we're talking about weddings here so I'm allowed to be overdramatic. What is this awesome song you may ask?

The Turtles--So Happy Together
If you don't love this song after listening to it, you can go away now. :)

Noah and the Whale

So I am currently obsessed with the show, "Revenge"
It's on ABC with the main character being played by Emily Van Camp.
Everwood anyone??

If anyone wants a well written show that has all the smut as a daytime drama, I suggest this fabulous show.

Therefore, due to my mind being clogged with drama, I haven't been able to blog as much--my apologies. To come back around, and because I am officially caught up on the show and must wait until Wednesdays at 10 o'clock to get my weekly fill, I shall resume blogging about awesome music.

I present Noah and the Whale. They've been around for a while--since 2006 and are from England. So they're legit. You know what else makes them legit? Guess who was a member of their band until 2008?
Just Laura Marling. One of my favorite musicians. No big deal.

Anyways (ahhhhh12391nd;ga;weg), so Noah and the Whale
Great band. Honestly? The vocalist Charlie Fink kind of reminds me of the guy from The National in regards to similar voices. They both have low tone. I'm going to present TWO songs of theirs. The first is Give A Little Love and it is oh so fantastic.
Oh that song still makes my heart so happy. To go along with this, the next song is called, "Shape Of My Heart". I hope you like this one as well! Enjoy everyone!

Smile

Ahhh. Those songs that just make you smile. The song that I'm posting today makes me smile every time it starts. In my opinion, I truly believe that a certain event will trigger an emotion towards a song.

I mean think about it, if you smell something like...a chocolate chip cookie, you could suddenly get hit with nostalgia and remember your Grandma's house. For example, anything that involves the scent "Apple Cinnamon" reminds me of my house. That's what my apartment always smells like (...well on a good day that is). I think songs have the same effect.

Okay so my current 'emotion', is motivation. I haven't felt very motivated to do anything really lately, so for some reason tonight, I feel as though I need to do something.

There's this quote from my sisters blog, in case you haven't heard of it, it's www.unabellavitablog.com It is an AWESOME blog. She is so so talented. Anyways, there is this quote on there, I have no idea where she got it, but it states,

"What good is wanting to do something without going on and doing it?"--The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn

How easy is that? If you want to do something, go on and do it.

So ladies, my question is, 'what is an awesome movie that depicts the idea from that quote, has a really hot guy in it, and a fantastic song in the trailer'?
Crazy Stupid Love. Ryan Gosling yes please....

So what is the fantastic song in the trailer that is fueling my motivation tonight?
Muse--Starlight. I know I've posted Muse in the past, but this song is utterly amazing. Especially knowing that tomorrow is Friday.

So find some songs that bring out good, bad, awkward, weird emotions in you and enjoy it. That is all.

Spring Obsession

So there are a few things that I'm currently obsessed with. Let me share them with you:

Reeses Puff Cereal. DELISHHHH

The Hunger Games

Lana Del Rey

Okay so about Lana Del Rey. I didn't really listen to her at all because of the SNL rumors. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about--she got a ton of crap for her performance. I've never heard it--mainly because I don't want to ruin this song in any way. One of her main songs is "Born to Die". Now I'm going to warn you--the video is kind of intense.

Now on the other hand, another just as important warning--this song will get stuck in your head. It's oh so good.

Don't Play With Me, Weather

So in order to combat our inconsistent weather, I suggest the artist Santigold.

Now for those of you who are familiar with this artist, you might have known her as Santogold. Well, in 2009, she had to change her name because someone was about to sue her (I believe it was a movie director who had rights to that name?). I don't know.

So more about her, she's from PA (holllaaaaa) and in all honesty, she reminds me of a less crass, M.I.A.
^Santigold                                ^M.I.A.

They almost look alike. Anyways, check out Santigold. The song I'm going to post is called "Lights Out". It is by far my favorite. I hope that you enjoy!
